Emmett Wallace Perry

Emmett was born Tuesday August 24, 2010 at 4:15am. He weighed 6 lbs 4 oz and was 20 inches long. I went into the hospital on Monday at 7:30am to be induced. They started the inducing process, after a few hours I had my epidural. It started kicking in and was doing really good at first, and then after awhile it just made my right leg numb and nothing else. So after 20 hours of labor and 20 minutes of pushing, Emmett was born. Because of Emmett's heart condition, I delivered at the University of Utah Hospital so that Emmett could be taken to Primary Children's Medical Center. When he was born they passed him through a window to the NICU. I didn't get to see him until I was ready to go to my room, and was still not able to hold him. After they took care of him in the NICU, the Life Flight transport team brought Emmett to my room before they walked him over to Primary's. It was very hard to see him go and not be able to hold him.

Ready to be transferred to Primary Children's Hospital.
